Hello friends, just thought I would share a bit of exciting news. For the past week or so I've been getting ready to ship out my first (semi) wholesale order to a lovely little boutique in Georgia called Young Blood Gallery and Boutique. I'm so flattered that they have taken an interest in my shop and that they want to add me to their boutique. discovered- 365 awesome designers
Lately I've come across so many cool "once a day" projects, but so far this one is my favorite. Matthias Mentasti of mment industries aims to showcase a new designer every day for a year, purely to stay inspired and spread the word on the talented designers he chooses. So far I'm really loving the variety of artists he's featured and can't wait to see who he posts everyday.

diy- dreamcatcher
I'm pretty sure it's more than obvious that I'm on a big native kick lately. I also realized that our apartment was missing an essential wall hanging that I hadn't been without since I was very very little- a dreamcatcher. So I ran right out, got some supplies and crafted up with my first diy to share with you! Since this is my first go at this please let me know if any instructions aren't clear of if you have any questions at all.
The supply list for this project is pretty short and sweet.
Essentials
You will need a bottle of tacky glue (I used Eco Flo Leather Craft Cement), wire craft ring (they come in all sorts of sizes, I went with a 5" ring), leather chord to wrap around the metal ring, chord for the woven inside part of the dream catcher (I used an artificial sinew, but regular craft floss works). Supplies not pictured: scissors, Krazy Glue, a couple binder clips or clothes pins, and thread for beads with itty bitty holes. Most or all of these supplies can be found at Michaels Craft stores.
Extras
Beads, shells, crystals, feathers...anything you want to decorate your dream catcher with.
Before you get started
You will want about 8ft of leather chord to wrap around your wire ring and about 6ft of chord for the woven inside of the ring. This is based on a 5". You may have to guesstimate for other ring sizes. Also (super important) always make sure to be tieing square knots, that way your knots won't slip out.
1. Take your tacky glue, wire ring, leather chord and glue the very end of the chord perpendicularly to the ring, fasten in to place with a clothes pin. You may want to put enough glue on the ring so that you can wrap the chord around a couple times to ensure it's really fastened into place. Begin to wrap the chord around and around the ring until you wrap the whole thing, glue the end of the chord up to where you began and fasten into place with the clothes pin. Let glue completely dry.
2. Tie your chord anywhere on the ring.
3. Begin looping the chord around the ring, I counted off about every 9 times the leather chord wrapped around, it doesn't have to be exact though. While wrapping around make sure to leave the littlest bit of slack and also make sure to loop the chord back through the chord hanging down so it doesn't pull too much one way or the other.
4. Continue looping even when you reach where you stared. Go around and around until it's too small for you to make anymore loops. Feel free to string some beads in the loops as you go around.
5. You could either tie your chord off in the middle or tie some decorations to the end of the chord. I wrapped a crystal and then attached a turquoise cross bead to the end.
6. To add feathers I stuck the end of one up inside a bead strung on the chord. I then put a couple drops of glue on the feather, wrapped the end of it several times with the chord and tied it off.
7. Next, go nuts! Add as many decorations and fathers as you want. Then when you are happy with how things look take a bit of chord, find the top center and tie off a little loop so you can hang it. Viola! You have your self a hand made dream catcher. See, pretty easy right?
Since the rings I bought came in a four pack I will be using the rest to make three more dreamcatchers that I will be selling in the shop very very soon!
